Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Technology Applications
New Technology Application TEKS for the 2012-2013 school year have been adopted by the State Board of Education. Texas educators and other experts in the field reviewed and updated the TEKS to meet the 21st century demands and technology standards and to keep up with an ever evolving digital learner. The Round Rock ISD Instructional Technology department has been monitoring the changes to ensure that we are ready to implement the new TA TEKS with our staff and students.
The TA TEKS are divided into the following categories; K-2, 3-5, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and are based on six strands:
• Creativity and innovation
• Communication and collaboration
• Research and information fluency
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making
• Digital citizenship
• Technology operations and concepts
